All Things Being Equal

How do we measure equality of opportunity in the context of public education?  Is racial balance part of the equation?  Do we fund schools in wealthy suburbs differently than we do those in impoverished urban neighborhoods?  Could the achievement gap be remedied by focusing primarily on curriculum and teacher effectiveness?

All Things Being Equal explores these and other questions concerning education policy through observation of students, parents and teachers from a variety of school districts within the education system of Fairfield County, Connecticut.
